Yesterday James Gunn tweeted out a message that he had completed the script for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Today we learned that James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2 script made Chris Pratt cry. Was it all a ploy by Gunn to get Pratt to take off his shirt once more?
In a recent sit down with Digital Spy Pratt relayed this story:
We’ve talked a little. I know some of the songs that are going to be on Awesome Mix Vol 2. All I can tell you because – obviously, I’m not allowed to say anything, nor would I want to because it would be like telling a kid what’s under the tree before Christmas morning; I would encourage people not to poke holes in the paper and peek, allow yourself the ‘Christmas morning’. What I will say is that [Gunn’s] pitch and his ideas legitimately put tears in my eyes. It is so good, it’s so good. I can not wait to get started on it and I can not wait for people to see what he’s going to pull off with this second movie. It’s so big and so good. From what I understand, Marvel [heard Gunn’s pitch] and they said nothing. [It] was that perfect. There was no micromanaging of the idea. They just love it so much they didn’t have any notes for it. It’s going to be remarkable.
We’re just shy of two years before the May 5th, 2017 release date for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 so there’s plenty of time for Pratt to get a hold of his feelings before they interfere with getting a good take on set. It is delightful to know that Pratt is so on board with the second movies direction.
Which way will the movie’s storyline take us, will we meet Pratt’s father, or some other member of his family? Will Starlord return for a visit to Earth? Will Tony Stark head for the stars and hook up with the Guardians like he recently did in the comics?
What would you like to see in the sequel?
