It’s finally happened. Microsoft has taken that one consistent complaint from Xbox One users and turned it into one of the biggest announcements of E3 2015. That’s right, Microsoft is making the Xbox One backwards compatible for Xbox 360 games digitally.

They are starting with 100 titles and adding more as they can. You won’t have to pay for games you already own, just download the digital version. As more information comes available about this new upgrade we’ll bring it to you here.

What games are you most looking forward to bringing back to life on Xbox One?

*UPDATE:

There’s no actual reporting out on how Micrsoft is managing this new backwards compatibility. This short list of available games that was just released makes it look like they are recompiling games from the bottom up. Which doesn’t generate a lot of faith from me that all those games will be available. At least in the near future. It wouldn’t surprise me to see some fan voting system put in place to help shorten the work list.

Here’s that short list of games that Microsoft has available for when the new upgrade goes into effect:

Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Tooie
BattleBlock Theater
Defense Grid
Geometry Wars Evolved
Hexic HD
Jetpac Refuelled
Kameo
Mass Effect
Perfect Dark
Perfect Dark Zero
Small Arms
Super Meat Boy
Toy Soldiers
Toy Soldiers: Cold War
Viva Piñata
Viva Piñata: TIP
