One of the main complaints (amongst many) about the series of Transformers movies by Michael Bay is that robots in disguise featured in them look nothing like the Transformers we know and love. Of course by that we mean that Bay’s VFX team took a significant departure in the look and style of all the assorted Autobots and Decepticons, so much so that they got their own name, “Bay-formers.” So a lot of you have been missing those good old days from the 80s, and someone has heard your call, and they work in the video game industry. If you’re looking for a taste of the old school then Platinum Games has a surprise for you this fall, and this your first look.

Called appropriately enough Transformers: Devastation, the game is set up to look like the 1980s animated series where you can play as one of five Autobots and fight the Decepticons all day long. The game will be released on Playstation 4 later this year, and although Sony wasn’t planning on showing anything from the game just yet, a recent leak forced their hand.
