This is why we can’t have nice things Internet. First you take a site like The Daily Star, then throw an incredibly poorly written and researched post about a big star against the Internet and then just see what clicks. Seriously though, the ridiculous “Word Of The Day” making the Internet rounds is that Beyonce is in talks with Disney and Marvel to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a super heroine role in time for the next Avengers movie. I’ll give you a minute to stifle that fit of giggles that news should have generated. Once you’ve caught your breath, check out what roles The Daily Star thinks Beyonce might play.just-announced-beyonce-cast-hulk--large-msg-136036481656

No, it’s not She-Hulk which would at least use the funny Beyonce meme from her fantastic Superbowl performance. Here’s what roles Daily Star thinks she might be up for:

● Boom-Boom: The alter-ego of Tabitha Smith, a secret agent with the ability to create lethal plasma bombs with her mind.

● Blink: A superheroine who can teleport herself and others anywhere.

● Tigra: A cat-like crime-fighter with superhuman strength, speed and agility.

● Hawkeye: An expert in combat, including sword-fi ghting, archery and jujitsu.

Yeah, it’s that sadly researched. Boom-Boom and Blink are X-Men characters, so those are out unless Marvel puts Boom-Boom through the Inhumans transformation. Hawkeye, now there is a female Hawkeye, but she is a 20 something that the first Hawkeye Clint Barton is training/mentoring. Tigra is the only one that could even come close to the realm of reality, but I kinda doubt the character would be interesting enough to join the Avengers at this point.

With little to no research The Daily Star could have put Captain Marvel/Photon/Pulsar (Monica Rambeau), She-Hulk (Why not turn the Internets meme back on itself?), Spider-Woman, or even Jocasta. Those might have made a little more sense.

So unless Kanye is put in charge of casting Avengers 3, I wouldn’t hold my breath for Beyonce’s triumphant entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
