Here is comes, Doctor Who fans, the first look at what to expect come September when the show returns for its ninth season! The BBC just released the trailer and, along with a quick 1-minute, 30-second look at the show, some other details were handed out, including a brief blurb from The Doctor himself, Peter Capaldi. Scroll on to check out the visuals as well as the rest of the info.
First and foremost, we know you want to watch that trailer. So here it is:
Is it just me, or is the show looking a little more creepy this time around? Aside from the snippet of Capaldi rocking a guitar, of course. I imagine, however, that we’ll get all the Doctor Who goodness we’ve come to expect, from darkness to action to pure cheese. But what does Capaldi have to say about the new season?
“They’ve suddenly realised that they are the most fortunate people in all of time and space and are hell-bent on adventure. (The Doctor) is in pursuit of joy and grabbing every thrill that he can along the way. But I sense him running from something, that even he does not yet understand…”
More mystery from The Doctor? Why am I not surprised? So far, a few episode titles have also been confirmed – EP1 will be “The Magician’s Apprentice”, EP2 it titled “The Witch’s Familiar”, EP5 is to be called “The Girl Who Died” and EP6 is “The Woman Who Lived.” Episode 5 also happens to be the one in which we will see Maisie Williams show up, so Game of Thrones fans can start squealing now.
And, the final reveal – Doctor Who season 9 shall be premiering on… September 19th! That’s just over two months away, folks, so mark your calendars. Or make a note in your smart phone. Or whatever the kids are doing these days…
