SDCC15: “Ash vs. The Evil” Dead Trailer is HERE!

Hail to the king, baby! Horror-genre fans, ’80s movie fanatics, and Bruce Campbell groupies everywhere can celebrate, because the Evil Dead franchise is back, more gruesome and Bruce-ier than ever. Now, we get our first extended look at some video from the upcoming TV series, Ash vs. The Evil Dead.

During the show’s panel at San Diego’s Comic-Con, it was announced that the series will debut, fittingly enough, on Halloween night: Saturday, Oct. 31, at 9:00pm. And, as we figured (and hoped and hoped and hoped) it would, the show’s first live action trailer was released as well. Check it out in all its groovy glory below!

Oh Mylanta!  There’s a lot here for true fans of the Evil Dead franchise to be happy about. Ashley J. Williams still working at a second-rate convenience store, The Necronomicon in full frightening force, buckets of blood, she-bitches, awesome fast swoop-up-y camera angles, and a nonchalantly dickish hero; this new foray into the world of The Evil Dead looks like everything we ever wanted it to be and more.

As the story line goes: 30 years after the events of Evil Dead, Ash is a loner, living a dull existence, still not able to come to grips with the events that started at the cabin. When the early stages of a Deadite invasion  begin to unfold, our favorite anti-hero must once again attach his chainsaw and pick up his trusty boomstick, all while attempting to finally come to terms with his past.

Sound off, meathead Bastards: are you excited to see Bruce Campbell back in action and kicking some undead ass?
