There are many among us who think the Ghostbusters reboot is but a joke. The nostalgia trippers out there who are so emotionally connected to the original films think a new version is cardinal sin. Check out the comment section of any Ghostbusters reboot article on any site and you’d think it was a war.
If you are one of the many who have taken up arms against this movie, then a cease fire is an order. The Ghostbusters cast just paid paid a visit to a children’s hospital. A moment of charity and good will has been observed.
Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones dropped in on the Tufts Medical Center for Children sporting their Ghostbusters gear (are those newly updated proton packs?)
While the Ghostbusters movie isn’t even out yet, and granted younger children probably aren’t aware of what Ghostbusters is, they surely recognized some of the comedic faces. Getting some time with a celebrity is always a cool thing – its a rare moment and makes for a story to tell. Everyone sick in a hospital needs a story to tell other than why they’re in the hospital. They are relived that for a moment someone was there to try and brighten up their bad dream. Same goes for the parents. And, when the movie does come out, it will be even more awesome for them.
No matter how the movie does, everyone can appreciate this is was awfully nice of them.
The Ghostbusters reboot is currently shooting in Boston, and it set to hit theaters July 22nd, 2016.
Note: If you’re going to comment on this article, please don’t be a dick. Not at the expense of sick children, anyway.
