Vin Diesel‘s latest movie, The Last Witch Hunter, pits him once again against the forces of evil. He’s not alone though, Michael Caine (Kingsman), Elijah Wood (Wilfred), and Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones) join in on the fun. If this trailer looks familiar, don’t beat yourself up over it, it is familiar, perhaps too familiar.
Man hunt evil witches. We’ve seen a lot of movies like this before, that’s where the familiarity comes from. There’s the BSGO (Big Secret Good Organization) that fights the other BSEO (Big Secret Evil Organization) to decide the fate of the world. While no one around them notices or knows a thing about it.
Michael Caine fills in the role he pretty much played in Kingsman as the head of the good guys, Elijah Woods plays the new untested witch hunter which will eventually replace Caine’s character as the leader. I made that great deductive leap because Caine’s character is called Father Dolan or Dolan the 36th and Wood’s character is Dolan the 37th. Vin Diesel is the immortal, kind of like the guy from 1989’s Warlock who travels to the future to fight witches. Rose Leslie is the witch who isn’t so bad and teaches Vin Diesel a thing or two about life and living. I might chuckle if she actually tells him:
You know nothing Kaulder.
See for yourself.
It still looks like a fun movie. Vin Diesel is sure to deliver those deadpan lines as he slices and dices his way through the worst evil has to throw at him. The Last Witch Hunter will probably do well at the box office, it has the star power of Vin Diesel behind it with his Millions of Facebook followers, his status as the third highest paid actor in Hollywood last year, and his affable personal charm. That guy is just fun to hang out with, at least it seems that way to me.
I guess what I am saying is that I will love watching this movie on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
