Amidst all the speculation regarding the hotly contested Ghostbusters reboot, the one guarantee is that the film will be chock full of famous faces. The cameo roster is building and building, but that unfortunately doesn’t seem to fill the hardcore fans with confidence about the project’s future. It seems like week after week, we keep hearing about a new cameo appearance, but this one seems really off the rails…

Prop posters spied on the set reveal a cameo by none other than the madman himself, Ozzy Osbourne. According to the scant info, Ozzy will be playing himself as he headlines the “Rock Revenge Fest Featuring Ozzy Osbourne” at the fictional Stonebrook Theater (aka Boston’s Citi Wang Theater).
This is interesting; a scenario similar to this was mentioned in Hank Braxtan’s excellently weird fan film Freddy vs. Ghostbusters. Could this be an intentional nod?
Perhaps it’s our ladies in gray who finally do the honors and inform Mr. Osbourne that he has in fact been dead since 1987. It seems like Paul Feig, who has been nothing but nice to the fanbase, is reaching out a little further to make this film really stand out, yet make the fans happy.
In all honesty, it’s Ghostbusters. What more reason do you need?
Ghostbusters is scheduled for release July 15, 2016.
Ghostbusters stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, Chris Hemsworth, Andy Garcia, Andy K. Williams, Matt Walsh, and Neil Casey
