There’s just one week of shooting left on Captain America: Civil War, and just when you thought that there maybe wasn’t any new surprises, enter the following shot from the German set of the film. Of course, you know that the plot of the film concerns in no small way the attempt by Cap (Chris Evans) and Falcon (Anthony Mackie) to find Cap’s best friend Bucky (Sebastian Stan) who is now the skilled but brainwashed HYDRA assassin, the Winter Soldier. Bucky may not be the villain of Civil War, but will the film’s climax see him become a hero. Not to spoil anything, but this photo from the set sort of suggests the inevitable.
I guess now it’s Falcon’s turn to say, “On your left.”
I’m not sure where they’re going and what they’re doing, but they’re probably not racing to see which one’s fastest. If I may be so bold, I might theorize that this comes from the end of the movie. Perhaps Cap is captured by Baron Zemo or the Pro-Registration forces of the government so Bucky and Falcon are racing to rescue him. Maybe Iron Man is threatening to do some unfortunate dental work to Captain America’s smile. You know the drill…
Whatever the reason, they sure did invite a lot of people to watch them run. It truly must be a tough thing for location managers working on Marvel Studios movies, especially when the people with costumes show up, and especially when its a character not yet seen on film, like last week’s reveal of Black Panther. “What did you do today?” “Well, I watched a guy with a metal arm and a guy with wings run down the street…” Only in Germany! And sometimes America.
To the German site Bild.de goes the credit for the set pic.
