We’re less than a month away from the fall premiere of The Flash and the excitement is in the air. As we get closer and closer, the show has been showing off what fans can expect through 30 second promos. Recently, a full minute version of the promo hit the internet with some additional scenes that hadn’t been in the 30 second version. Here is the usual possible spoiler warning. If you want to see what you may be in for, then keep reading ahead!
Before we can get into things, here is the minute long promo:
So, what did you think? Did you catch some of the additional scenes in this version of the promo? The first big scene was the intro of the promo. The shot opens up with a mysterious figure in a hooded sweatshirt walking through a crowd. Now we don’t know what’s going in to cause such a crowd or who the character is. We do know that a voice begins to speak and the words “He promised me to take me home if I killed you.” Then we hear Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) ask “Who promised you that?” Finally, we get a shot of someone who may be The Atom Smasher answer with the name Zoom. A great way to set the tone of the promo if you ask me. This is a good glimpse what The Flash is up against in the upcoming season.
The second big addition was the introduction of Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten). At first glance she looks like just another cop and new to the scene. Of course, something tells you that she must be important if they took time to show her scene and her meeting Det. Joe West (Jesse L. Martin). In the New 52 version of the The Flash, Patty Spivot is the head of Blood Analysis who eventually goes on to date Barry. Based on her patrol uniform and fresh face, that doesn’t seem to be the case here. So what kind of a role will she play in the show? She may not look it now, but she might be a potential love interest for Barry this season. What about Iris? Well, when we last the two Iris (Candice Patton) had just grieved over the loss of Eddie (Rick Cosnett) and Barry had just entered a giant hole in the sky. To say they’re together right now is highly unlikely.
Does this make you even more excited for the second season?
Season two of The Flash premieres October 6.
