Ever since online-streaming-service-turned-original-content-provider Netflix unleashed Daredevil to the masses and showed the world that Marvel Comics properties can do more than dazzle on the big screen, us fan-types have been asking what’s next? and can it measure up? We don’t have much longer to wait: premiering next month is the next offering between the two entertainment powerhouses, Marvel’s Jessica Jones. Now, we get to kick off October in the right way, with a brand new teaser!
While we don’t get to see her face here (although we have gotten a glimpse in released set photos), Krysten Ritter stars as the title character, and if the series follows the premise of the comics, Jones will be a former superhero who works as a private investigator. The character as written on the page is quite an intriguing one; with the TV series’ inclusion of The Purple Man (David Tennant), the villain who directly led to Jones’ super-hero retirement in the comics, odds are good viewers will get a similar back-story. The show’s cast also includes Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, and Carrie-Anne Moss in an as-yet-unspecified role.
Set in Hell’s Kitchen at the same time as the ongoing Daredevil series, the probability of crossovers and cameos from multiple other Marvel characters in the first season are extremely high. Check out the new teaser and let us know in the comments: will you be checking out Marvel’s Jessica Jones when it premieres on November 20th?
