The trailer for the new animated Batman move has been released- and it’s a family affair! Batman: Bad Blood’s trailer originally debuted this past weekend at New York Comic Con, and in the video below you’ll get to watch it, along with DC All-Access getting scoops from many of the major names involved in the project. Jason O’Mara, who voices Batman, sets the scene for us on what the premise of the movie is. He reveals that, long story short, Batman sacrifices himself to save Batwoman and is never heard from again. Naturally, this doesn’t sit well with the other members of the Bat family.
Director Jay Oliva elaborates on how the whole family comes together on this one. Damien comes back from the monastery where he was working on finding himself, while Nightwing had been trying, quite unsuccessfully, to take Batman’s place. The two decide, with the help of Batwoman and Batwing, to try to find Batman.
Character designer Phil Bourassa shared that just how there are some new members of the Bat family (Batwing and Batwoman), there are also some new villains that he and the rest of the team had a lot of fun creating.
There’s some really insightful Q+A after the trailer, but if it’s The Dark Knight you’re watching for, skip right over to around 1:17.
Look for Batman: Bad Blood on DVD and blu-ray in early 2016.
