It’s been a rough ride for the upcoming Inhumans movie lately. From rumors that Marvel Studios was pulling the plug, to the denial of those rumors, to being pushed even further to the back of Marvel’s production slate, all the Inhumans we’re going to get for the next five years is going to be on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. apparently. In the meantime though, one actor is going to keep the flame alive, an actor that has a pre-existing connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You know that Vin Diesel‘s been looking at playing King Black Bolt in the Inhumans movie, and now he’s showing off his mad Black Bolt skills.
While promoting his upcoming movie The Last Witch Hunter with IGN, Diesel gave us a sneak peak at what Diesel playing Black Bolt would look like.
In addition, Diesel has apparently had in-depth conversations with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige about playing Black Bolt, and balancing that Diesel’s other part in the MCU giving voice to Guardians of the Galaxy team member Groot:
“It would be… put it this way, when Kevin Feige started talking to me about… who would ever think? A voice for one thing and presence for another would be pretty genius – it’d be pretty genius. Whenever my father sends me an email, at the end of it he says ‘stay human’ – and it’s cool and beautiful, but what is he really trying to say. Is he trying to say I’ve been affected by by Terrigen Mist? Does he want to cocoon me again?”
Would you nerd out that much about the Inhumans if you weren’t strongly being considered for the lead part in the movie? I thought not. Still, there’s a lot of time between now and the release of Inhumans so anything can happen. Yes, including its cancellation.
Inhumans will be in theaters everywhere on July 12, 2019.
