Have you ever heard about a new series and, judging by the names attached, just knew it was going to be good? That seems to be the case when discovering that Phil Lord and Chris Miller are developing a new comedy tv series titled In Time. Lord and Miller don’t seem to mind having a lot on their plate, as they are also currently working on the standalone Han Solo film, and developing an animated pilot called Son of Zorn, starring Jason Sudeikis.
Looking at the repertoire that the talented team has amassed, it seems almost assured that In Time will hit all the right comedic notes. They’ve already showed us what they can do in The LEGO Movie, the 21 Jump Street franchise, Cloudy With the Chance of Meatballs, and their current TV series, Last Man On Earth. Add in the fact that the pilot episode is being penned by Family Guy and The Cleveland Show writer Julius Sharpe, and the laughs are pretty much guaranteed.
The storyline has been described as “three friends who try to balance the adventure of time travel with the mundane concerns of their present day lives.”, which sounds like a pretty awesome problem to have. The possibilities with this plot are almost endless, since there really aren’t many (if any) rules or restrictions when dealing with time travel. Whether they go with subtle situations that are entertainingly improbable or let loose with the all-out impossible, it should be fun watching the creativity run wild in this series!
Lord and Miller have a deal set up with Fox, so that’s most likely where In Time will air.
