We’ve been getting sneak peeks into the makings of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldbergs‘ small screen adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillons‘ cult classic comic series Preacher for a while; hell, we’ve even caught a glimpse of Arseface. Now AMC, which is where the series will air, is about to take things a step further. They’ve officially announced that they’ll be releasing the first trailer for Preacher with next week’s extended episode of The Walking Dead! The cast and crew have been sharing fun photos via Facebook and Twitter for some time now, but this is the first we’ll see of any actual viewing-ready footage. For those of you that aren’t familiar with Preacher, the story follows the journey of internally conflicted Preacher Jesse Custer, to be portrayed by Dominic Cooper, from his small Texas hometown onto a journey to find God. Let’s not forget the small fact that Custer has developed a highly unconventional power thanks to the mysterious entity inhabiting his body. His companions on his journey are his ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire turned best friend named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun).
Rogen and Goldberg (This is the End, Superbad, Neighbors) along with showrunner Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad) developed the series into television form to be co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and AMC Studios. The series is set to premiere sometime in mid-2016.
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 PM ET on AMC.
