It’s been a while since we were getting constant Suicide Squad news when it was shooting on the streets of Toronto over the summer; it feels like all that hype started to dry up after that trailer was released at San Diego Comic Con in July. But as we’re getting closer to the end of the year, the studios will be wanting to jump start the hype for next year’s slate of huge movies, and that includes the Squad, who are getting a close-up in the latest issue of Empire. We’ve already seen one cover featuring Jared Leto‘s Joker, but now we’re getting another as well as cover shots of three other of the film’s, er, heroes…

First the officially released covers (courtesy of Geek Tyrant) that feature a new image of Leto’s Joker, as well as Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, who looks like she got the full Walking Dead treatment for the part.

So now that you won’t go to sleep tonight, let’s look at the two unofficial covers. Film Hype (and ComicBook.com) shared via Twitter the leaked image of Will Smith‘s Deadshot, and Margot Robbie‘s Harley Quinn. The photo of Harley features her now ubiquitous bat, while Smith wears Deadshot’s eye piece but goes without the white mask. Is that how we’ll see Deadshot in most of the film? Who knows, but check out the covers below.

It’s funny to see fan reaction to this David Ayer film go from utter pessimism to something resembling staid excitement. Will Ayer manage to justify that fan investment of hype into this hopeful franchise? Find out when Suicide Squad hits theaters everywhere August 6, 2016.
