When you’re the movie expected to break box office records for opening weekend tickets sold, expect to get some extra attention. This is the case for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the long-awaited, and hotly anticipated, continuation of the Star Wars saga. Of course, if you can’t be the one to make that Star Wars money, perhaps you can be the one to take advantage of all those eye balls on opening weekend. That’s what 20th Century Fox is thinking. A reliable source close to the production has revealed that the first trailer for the big, sixth movie in the X-Men series, X-Men: Apocalypse, will be one of the previews in front of The Force Awakens.

In a new interview with Collider, X-Men producer Simon Kinberg, while answering questions about Deadpool, was quite emphatic about when, exactly, we’ll see that all-important first trailer for Apocalypse. “I can in fact confirm that information. Our first trailer will be on Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” said Kinberg. “It’s our first thing out there so it is somewhat of a teaser but it’s certainly longer than a minute and it has a ton of cool stuff in it.”

“Cool stuff,” like, according to rumor, a spoiler that will set-up the ending, and perhaps reboot, of the entire X-Men film series when its over? Kinberg didn’t say, but we know that director Bryan Singer has already warned us to expect the spoiler. Speaking of which, did you see the Instagram pic of Singer hard at work with editor John Ottman from last week?

So The Force Awakens is shaping up for being appointment viewing beyond Star Wars. It’s long been assumed that the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War will be in front of it too, and perhaps even a teaser for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story too. And now we have X-Men: Apocalypse to get excited about, which is a bit surprising given the animosity between Fox and Disney over the X-Men film rights. What ever the reason, it looks like the Force will definitely be with nerd everywhere on December 18.

Of course, there’s a good chance that the trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse will be leaked in advanced of its official release, and when it is, we’ll have it for you. Stay tuned.
