As if The Hulk being involved in the film didn’t make it explosive enough, rumors have also been circling that Valkrie could be joining the cast of Thor: Ragnarok. This would be her debut role on the big screen, and the rumor is somewhat backed by Marvel having said that they’re “looking to cast some great women in this movie.” There are no shortage of female villains in the Thor-niverse, and Lainey Gossip is reporting that Marvel Studios will be utilizing this fact by including a major female villain in the film. Read on for what the site had to say.According to what Lainey Gossip heard:
“If Valkyrie is really coming to the big screen, that will make two high-profile female roles being cast in Ragnarok, because I have heard that Marvel is also planning on bringing their first major female villain into their cinematic universe. I don’t know who the character is for sure, but there are a couple likely candidates from Asgard: Amora the Enchantress, a sorceress; or Hela, Queen of the Dead (and also Loki’s daughter but that won’t necessarily be the case if Hela does indeed get the cinematic treatment).”
If you’ve seen the animated Hulk vs. Thor movie, than you know it wouldn’t be the first time Enchantress and Hela have appeared together; so maybe they’d bring both aboard! It’s hard to judge what a “fair fight” would entail with all these power-packed characters. Also, Thor: Ragnarok is being written by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle; both of whom co-wrote Hulk Vs. Thor. Just some food for thought.
Taika Waititi is set to direct Thor: Ragnarok, which is scheduled to hit theaters November 3, 2017.
