While many may have already gotten a glimpse of Gal Gadot in her full Wonder Woman glory, due to ‘Batman v. Superman’, there has been no images of her on-set in the heroine’s stand-alone film; which is currently in production. There is, however, photos of her co-star Chris Pine. Playing the long time man in her life, Steve Trevor, this is the very first look of him on set. The photos also raise questions about the films timeline.

The photo above shows Chris Pine in his role as Steve Trevor for Wonder Woman. The wardrobe seems to hail back to World War I era, but the source of this photo reveals a new cast member that we hadn’t heard from yet. French actor Saïd Taghmaoui (La Haine, Traitor, G.I. JOE : Rise Of Cobra, Three Kings) posted these two photos on his Facebook and Instagram, before they were taken down by all-mighty film exec overlords.
Both Pine and Taghmaoui’s wardrobe, confirms that a portion of the film’s story will possibly take place during World War II. Now for our astute readers who are looking at the images and thinking to themselves, ” Why does that piece of paper say “Nightingale,” and not ‘Wonder Woman’?” Well that, my dears, is a tactic that many films use to keep prying eyes from causing problems on set. With this film being as big as it is, it should come as no surprise that they are putting out different alias’ for the film wherever they are filming. Of course, with the release of these images, it wouldn’t surprise me if that name changes.
Rumors were circulating as to the timeline for the film, but finally it was settled that it would take place in the past & the present day, a-la Captain America. But will Pine’s character be featured in both segments or just one half of the film, but it seems that it’ll be quite some time before we find that out. Now it is possible the Pine’s character Steve Trevor could have a part in the present day action, but it would require some mystical eternal youth situation or for him to be featured in his older age.
The bigger question for me, outside of being able to look at Chris Pine’s costume -Ooooo how amazing (she says sarcastically)- what is Taghmaoui’s role? Not much has been released about the supporting characters for the film, and the fact that his chair is alongside Gadot and Pine, could indicate that he has a large part to play in the plot of the film.
With filming and production taking place, we can only hope the Warner Bros. and ‘Wonder Woman’ director Patty Jenkins, will give fans something on who else is set to appear in the film, so stay tuned for more details.
Wonder Woman is slated to arrive on June 23, 2017.
