It was about 38 months ago that we first heard that a new Star Wars movie was in development, and now, in less than one month, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be hitting movie screens everywhere. As excitement grows (they’re pegging advanced ticket sales alone for opening weekend to be coming in at $100 million), comes the following news that is both inevitable and exciting: as of 2 am on Saturday November 21, The Force Awakens is complete. As in striking one down with “all of your hatred and your journey to the Dark Side is now complete” complete.
First, there was this quasi-official announcement concerning the final status of The Force Awakens.
Abrams officially finished the final mix of Force Awakens at 2am this morning. Movie is done folks!

Director J.J. Abrams confirmed that tidbit while at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center for the Celebrity Nerd-Off with Stephen Colbert. Obviously, it’s not big news that a movie is finished less than a month before it’s released, so let’s get to the other news, a brand new TV spot for the film. If you like fleeting glimpses of new footage and an old friend from Return of the Jedi, this one’s for you…
Was that Nien Nunb calling in? He was last seen co-piloting the Millennium Falcon with Lando Calrissian at the Battle of Endor, but now he’s behind the wheel (or stick, or however you pilot an X-Wing) of his own ship. The spot also had some other cool bits like seeing Rey (Daisy Ridley) flying the Falcon solo, and seeing Finn (John Boyega) get handy with his lightsaber again. What does it all mean? Just 26 more days till we find out.
Important reminder, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be in theaters everywhere on December 18.
