It’s official! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood has an official opening date! There are already Wizarding Worlds at Universal Studios in Orlando and Japan, but now the magic is being brought to the West Coast. Fans of the J.K. Rowling novels have been eagerly anticipating the opening of the attraction for almost five years. Until today, no one was quite sure how long that wait would be, as Universal officials have all remained very tight-lipped about the project. After all, everyone knows that Golden Snitches get Golden Stitches. We’re sorry. We don’t even know what that means. Anyway, Universal released a video to announcing the opening date with special guest star, Luna Lovegood actress Evanna Lynch, delivering the news. Let’s watch the video below now!

As Ms. Lovegood just told you, the official opening date for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is April 7, 2016. Right about now everyone’s wishing for a cloak of invisibility to go check out the Wizarding World a bit early. The attraction will center around Hogwarts castle and surround visitors with the bustling streets of Hogsmeade, recreating the quaint, British village vibe. Visitors will be able to grab a snack or a beverage at multiple spots, including Three Broomsticks, Hog’s Head pub, and the Magic Neep and Butterbeer carts. They will also be able to pick up a souvenir or two at Honeydukes, Ollivanders, Owl Post, Zonko’s Joke Shop, Wiseacre’s Wizarding Equipment, Dervish and Banges, Gladrags Wizardwear and Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods.

The attraction also boasts a couple engaging rides; Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, which is an immersive 3D-HD ride, incorporating filmed action sequences with groundbreaking ride robotics; and Flight of the Hippogriff, which is the first outdoor roller coaster for Universal Studios Hollywood.
