With the House of the Mouse gobbling up cash at the box office with Star Wars after their Lucasfilms acquisition. Many fans have been chomping at the bit with anticipation, hoping that we will see Indiana Jones in action one more time  on the big screen. And with rumors running rampant that maybe we will see Jurassic World’s Chris Pratt putting on the hat and whip, maybe it’s time to see just what the mouse has to say on the subject.

“It starts with great storytelling. That’s the heart of the company, going all the way back to 1923 when it was founded by Walt Disney and his brother Roy. It’s all about storytelling. That’s what creates the most value. We had in Pixar, some of the greatest storytellers that existed in motion pictures, certainly the best in animation. We had in Marvel, stories and characters, great storytelling, and obviously in George Lucas’ Star Wars, and Indiana Jones, by the way, as well, which will be coming, we have more great stories.”

This isn’t the biggest of reveals but it does show that Disney is planning to do something with the license. LucasFilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy also said way back in May that Disney is planning on making a new Indiana Jones movie, but she wasn’t quite sure when that would happen and that a script is not yet in development, but they are discussing the possibilities. Also squashed was the rumor that Disney was eyeing Pratt to replace Harrison Ford in the role.

Ford has also stated an interest in returning to the role, hoping that Spielberg would again helm the picture. But sadly with all this chatter we still don’t seem any closer to getting a new Indiana Jones movie than we were when Crystal Skull dropped. But who knows, maybe with all the nostalgia fueled dollars coming in from Star Wars, could we see Harrison Ford once again don the fedora for another globe spanning adventure? Or should Hollywood just hang up the whip? Let us know what you think in the comments below
