Typically when people here the name Jonah Hex, they think of the 2010 movie that starred Josh Brolin. Thankfully, there’s a bit more to the character than a B-rated movie. Over the years, there have been different variations of Jonah Hex. He’s a Civil War veteran who was betrayed by his own family. They branded him which gave him his well known “scar” and was left for dead. He would survive the betrayal and later become a bounty hunter. There are a number of variances as far as his history goes, but one thing stays the same, he has a code of honor and is a solid marksman.
“Ever since we decided that ‘Legends’ would involve time travel, we were eager to do a story set in the Old West…But if you’re going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply MUST include Jonah Hex in it. We’re thrilled about bringing another well known, beloved DC character to television.”
Like him or not, Jonah Hex has made a name for himself over there years that he’s become one of those characters you need to include during period stories. As a bonus, here is a photo that Schaech tweeted out hinting at his guest spot as the gunslinger.
