Ubisoft‘s upcoming March 8th release for Tom Clancy’s The Division is ramping up with some new web-based live action series that looks at the agents and the world they now live in. Youtubers Corridor Digital, RocketJump, and devinsupertramp teamed up with Ubisoft to produce four shorts, one to be premiered on each Youtube channel. Now all four are available and you can check them out after the jump.
Ubisoft’s Brand Representative Ann Hamilton said this about the project:
We’re looking for different ways to bring our games to life and to immerse our audience in the story of the game. We’ve worked with YouTubers in the past to create shorter content inspired by our stories and when we looked at the story for ‘The Division’ we thought it might fit for a longer form.
Sam Gorski, of Corridor Digital talked about creating four different shorts based in Tom Clancy’s The Division‘s world:
We took this game world and tried to make a different piece and each in a different genre. That way they’re all telling stories in the same world but they’re different tellings and different styles that match up with the channels they’ll be posting on.
Here’s the videos, if these don’t get you interested in checking out the video game…
Tom Clancy’s The Division: Agent Origins (Escape)
Tom Clancy’s The Division: Agent Origins (Ashes)
Tom Clancy’s The Division: Agent Origins (Pursuit)
Tom Clancy’s The Division: Agent Origins (Conspiracies)
The game is currently in its Closed Beta, working out any bugs and checking server loads as the multiplayer game plans to hit the Internet. So far this looks like a nice addition and a game we should all check out.
