Where to even begin with the solo Wolverine movies? X-Men Origins: Wolverine was supposed to kick off an origin-based franchise for FOX‘s longest running superhero franchise, but it didn’t quite take (we’re blaming it on the lackluster Deadpool presentation). 2013’s Wolverine was supposed to be the grimmest superhero movie ever, directed by sad-master Daren Aronofsky before it was abandoned and left at James Mangold‘s doorstep, for the director to turn it into a satisfying superhuman action flick.
With the franchise’s troubled history, fans have to wonder: what’s Wolverine 3 going to look like? Will it even come out? Thankfully, Hugh Jackman‘s facial hair is here to set the record straight…
Hugh Jackman recently won ambiguous-movie-update-status of the year award regarding the development of Wolverine 3 by telling his anxious fans at Sundance (who, we are guessing, were not all that eager to know about his most recent film, Eddie The Eagle):
“We have a script. A full script. To tell you, two days ago I got that the full finished—well, it’s not finished, but we’re getting super close—as you can see by the rate of my facial hair. That might give you a good clue that perhaps…yeah, it’s sooner rather than later.”
See the update video below for further evidence. As you can see, beneath his carefully-groomed full-face beard, Hugh Jackman is carefully cultivating the iconic Wolverine-chops, which we are guessing will soon reach critical mass, just in time to compliment his CGI claws. When Hugh Jackman was pressured into answering when the development team is planning to start shooting the film, the actor bristled his beard and said:
“I don’t have a firm date yet. My thing and I’ve told you and I’ve told everyone, it’s my last one, for me I want it to be perfect, so the moment I know it’s perfect, bang, we’ll go.I don’t have a firm date yet. My thing and I’ve told you and I’ve told everyone, it’s my last one, for me I want it to be perfect, so the moment I know it’s perfect, bang, we’ll go.”
Wolverine 3 is going to be Hugh Jackman‘s final venture into FOX’s superhero movie universe and it has been scheduled for release on March 3, 2017. And now, before FOX decide to re-schedule the movie’s release, we bring you a warning: Everyone of you reading this article, tell the world, tell this to every nerd wherever they are. Watch the facial hair. Everywhere. Keep looking. Keep watching the facial hair.
