According to the report, Deadpool star, Ryan Reynolds, will be dressed up as the Merc with a Mouth to hand out chimichangas via a food truck outside the stadium before the game on Sunday, February 7. Prior to that, on Saturday, February 6, Reynolds will be at a special screening of the movie.
In a report done by Fortune magazine, it was estimated that a 30-second ad for Super Bowl 50 would cost “as much as $5 million.” There is no word as to how many Deadpool ads will be shown during the game. At that much, though, don’t be surprised if there is only one. However, for a movie that almost wasn’t, Deadpool has been producing one of the busiest social media campaigns as of late.
While $5 million does sound a lot, it’s worth the price because of how many people watch the game every year. CBS Sports reported that, last year, 114.4 million people watched the game between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks. And in case you missed it, the Patriots won giving Tom Brady his fourth Super Bowl ring and third Super Bowl MVP award.
Super Bowl 50 will air on Sunday, February 7 and will feature the Carolina Panthers versus the Denver Broncos. Deadpool premieres in theaters on February 12.
