There has never been a better time for campy shows starring unencumbered male bravado than the 80s. Shifting easily between light-heartedness and ultimate danger, a perfect balance of sweat and body hair was achieved in shows like MacGyver, Miami Vice, Hawaii Five-O, The A-Team, and Knight Rider. But there was one show that excelled at the genre, one show that made mustachioed car jumps over the other ones; that show was Magnum, P.I., starring Tom Selleck. It’s no wonder then that FX‘s Archer, a show satirically steeped in that same overwhelming male bravado, would choose Magnum, P.I. as the template for a promo spot. FX has released a new teaser for Archer‘s upcoming seventh season. It’s a shot-for-shot remake of the opening credits of Magnum, P.I. and it is glorious. Check it out below!

Before you get to the actual Archer teaser itself, you should probably take a moment to refamiliarize yourself with the original, because there’s never a bad time to celebrate Tom Selleck and that beautiful mustache.

80s-tastic! Okay, now that you have that firmly cemented in your mind, here’s the Archer version:

How great is that!? The seventh season will premiere on Thursday, March 31. All your favorite cast members will be returning, including H. Jon Benjamin as the titular star, Aisha Tyler as a fellow agent and Archer’s ex-girlfriend Lana Kane, Jessica Walter as Archer’s mother and agency director Malory Archer, Judy Greer as absent-minded secretary Cheryl Tunt, Chris Parnell as the weak-willed agency member Cyril Figgis, Amber Nash as the overbearing human resources director Pam Poovey, Lucky Yates as maniacal scientist Krieger, and series creator Adam Reed as the most stable member of the gang, agent Ray Gillette.

Now, as an added bonus, here’s the trailer for the underrated 1984 Michael Crichton film Runaway, which features Tom Selleck fighting robotic spiders:
