Don’t call it a reboot. At least you most likely won’t after watching this new The Powerpuff Girls clip. There doesn’t seem to be any typical rebooting type stuff going on actually. Most reboots want to change everything and we can’t really see much difference from the original series so far. It is just a clip though, so maybe there’s plenty of other bonfire changes that will set the Internet ablaze once the series airs. Check it out after the jump.
There’s a new group of voices behind those cute little girls and it looks like that might be the biggest change in the series.
As you can see above, Amanda Leighton (The Fosters) voices Blossom, Kristen Li (Monsters University) is Bubbles, and Natalie Palamides (The Brave Cat) takes over the voice reins as Buttercup. Fan favorite Tom Kenny is back as the Narrator/Mayor.

Well, it’s hard to generate any Internet outrage about that clip. It looks like no one’s childhood is getting destroyed with this reboot… wait, we said you shouldn’t call it a reboot. There is plenty of social commentary going on in that one clip and there’s no reason we can’t all enjoy a good time with the The Powerpuff Girls while learning important life lessons.
The Powerpuff Girls returns to Cartoon Network sometime later this year, once the exact date is released we’ll let you know.
