In December of 2015, a small movie called Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit theaters. That movie went on to break records all over the world. And now it’ll be available for you to take home starting this April. Today, details about the Blu-Ray and DVD versions were released. There are details about the different covers, which stores will have exclusive content, and where to buy the metal case that you can proudly display on your shelf. Interestingly enough, there was no news about a 3D version nor a 4K version of the movie. It looks like you might have to wait a little bit longer for those versions to come out.

In addition to the details for the home release of The Force Awakens, here is a little trailer that was put together for you, the fan, to watch and get you excited about this coming April.

According to the press release, here are some of the cool things you can expect when you bring home your version of the movie:

  • Plus Deleted Scenes

If you watched the trailer, one of those deleted scenes includes a shot of Kylo Ren making his way onto the Millenium Falcon. As mentioned before, the home releases will have content available only via certain retailers like Target, Walmart, and Best Buy. Here’s the exclusive content that their retail locations will offer:

  • TARGET – The Target Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray Combo Pack comes with exclusive packaging and an added 20 minutes of bonus content, including never-before-seen interviews with Daisy Ridley and John Boyega and a deeper look at the movie’s costumes and weaponry
  • WALMART – The Walmart Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray Combo Pack comes with exclusive BB-8 packaging and an exclusive Star Wars Galactic Connexions trading disc
  • BEST BUY – The Best Buy Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray Combo Pack features exclusive SteelBook Packaging

Based on what’s been listed as far as bonus content is concerned, this is a must have for any fan of the series or fan of Blu-Rays/DVDs. Some of the bonus highlights have to be the documentary on the making of The Force Awakens as well as the cast table read. It would be amazing if the footage included their reactions for the first time while reading the script as a cast. But you’ll have to wait until the release to see if that happens.

You can take home The Force Awakens in Digital HD on April 1st and Blu-Ray/DVD on April 5th.
