It all started with the first Iron Man (2008) movie. There were rumblings that something was going to happen after the final credits of the movie. When that movie ended, many people didn’t didn’t flinch. They didn’t move an inch in their seat. And then it happened. Tony Stark walks through the front door, and sitting on his couch is none other than Nick Fury – a character no one had seen or heard of in the movie until that very moment. Since then, there’s been a post credit scene in almost every other Marvel Avenger related movie. And it was announced today that Captain America: Civil War might have three of them.

In a recent interview with Forbes magazine, Anthony & Joe Russo opened up about the latest installment to the Captain America franchise. One of the topics they talked about was their opportunity to bring Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“We always intended to (reveal him that way). We thought it was a great way to reveal him. I think people are going to be happy with him in the movie, he’s got a very interesting role in it. Part of the fun of Spider-Man is that this film is basically a war amongst the Avengers and Spidey does not have the baggage that all these other characters have. He enters the story after the conflict that is happening between the Avengers and that gives him a very unique place in the story.”

From there, the brothers went on to talk about the future of the Universe as well as the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. According to the Russo brothers, “[There are] new characters that are going to appear in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. It’s a big sprawling ambitious movie, it’s about as ambitious as movies get and it should be, and the title alone indicates that there will be an incredible scape and scope to it.” Just how many characters will be in the movie remains to be the question. And finally, the brothers were asked about any possibilities of post credit scenes for Civil War. Here is what they had to say about that matter.

“We can’t say who is going to be in it, but we can say that there certainly could be one, or two, maybe three. We can confirm that you should stay sat in your seats when the movie is done.”

Well there you have it. Don’t even move when the final credits start scrolling. As for who audiences may see in the post credit scenes, some believe it could be both Black Panther and Captain Marvel since both characters are scheduled to have their own movies in the near future.

Captain America: Civil War premieres in theaters on May 6th.
