After what’s seemed like months of teasing, the first crossover (and we’ve got to assume that it will be the first of many) between Supergirl and The Flash happens in exactly one week. A magazine cover last spring featuring stars Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin (along with the Greg Berlanti, the executive producer of both shows) proved how photogenic they are together, which in Hollywood is half of any effort. But now, we get to see if the two have any chemistry, and the proof offered in the promo for “World’s Finest” answers in definitive terms, they do!. It looks like next week’s crossover is going to be a lot of fun indeed.
Courtesy of CBS, here’s a look at next week’s episode of Supergirl.
It’s adorkable! You’ll notice that the promo spent a little more time on Barry and Kara being fast super-friends than the fact that they’re teaming up to catch Silver Banshee and Livewire; fun moments like “I let you think you got here first,” and Kara giving Barry’s hand a rather tight squeeze are more the order of the day. Of course in the same week as the release of Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice, maybe it’s just nice to see DC Comics superheroes meet in the light of day and not immediately start fighting each other. It’s refreshing!
Here’s the official synopsis for the episode.
“Kara gains a new ally when the lightning-fast superhero The Flash suddenly appears from an alternate universe and helps Kara battle Siobhan, aka Silver Banshee, and Livewire in exchange for her help in finding a way to return him home.”
“World’s Finest” airs next Monday at 8 pm on CBS. The Flash returns to the the CW tonight with new solo adventures at 8 pm.
