Who knew Batman could beat box like that? We all knew he could box, and loved to beat up criminals, but would he dare to put the two together so musically? Will Arnett is back as everyone’s favorite caped crusader in LEGO block form to promote The LEGO Batman Movie. Arnett is joined by a fantastic voice cast that includes Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, Michael Cera as Robin, Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, and Mariah Carey as Mayor Marion Grange. It looks to be a whole lot of fun and perhaps just the touch of levity we’ll all need after all the seriousness of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Here’s the official description from the Warner Brothers Youtube page:
In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
Yes, we all need LEGO Batman in our lives. How will Zach Galifianakis’ Joker stand up against those fabulous Jokers of the past? Cera as Robin seems a good choice, he’s got that quirky sense of humor that should translate through his voice onto the big screen.
The LEGO Batman Movie hits theater screens sometime in 2017.
