Months before Batman V. Superman ever hit the screen, rumors were floating around the internet that the honchos over at Warner Bros. were so impressed with Affleck’s turn at the cape and cowl that they wanted Affleck to stick around as the definitive Batman, not just for Justice League 1 & 2, but for an entirely new Batman trilogy. Well now word from from Affleck’s own agent is that there is a script and its really cool.
Coming from CAA’s Patrick Whitesell confirms that the script is written and that his client is indeed locked in for the Justice League movies.
“He’s contracted to do at least Justice League Part 1 andJustice League Part 2, so at least three times wearing the cape. There’s a script that he’s written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that’s out there as an option.”
Apart from wanting Affleck as The Dark Knight for at least the next decade, Batfleck is also rumored to be in the Suicide Squad movie. We have already seen him riding on top of the Jokers’s car in the trailer, but rumor also has it that Affleck will be appearing in a cameo towards the end of the movie during a prison riot scene featuring The Joker. Suicide Squad apparently isn’t part of Affleck’s multi picture deal and is a stand alone cameo in his stay as The Bat.
Filming for Justice League is set to begin April 11 on at Leavesden Studios in the U.K. Director Zack Snyder has said that Batman will be responsible for assembling the Justice League, as the DC Universe is threatened by one of DC’s biggest baddies, Darkseid. If you have seen Batman V. Superman, what were your thoughts on Affleck’s Dark Knight? Is he a keeper or should he be re-cast once again?
