AMC has just released a new  teaser promo video for their upcoming highly anticipated series “Preacher,” set to debut on Sunday, May 22nd at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT).  The new promo raises the blood pressure and intrigue when it comes to the  mysterious forces that impacts the life of West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) and the troubled people who populate his world. Check it out below.

Despite being only 20 sec. this promo has managed to cram plenty of blood and guts into the spot and should leave fans wanting more. The series stars Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy, Ruth Negga as Tulip, Lucy Griffiths as Emily, W. Earl Brown as Sherriff Root, Anatol Yusef as DeBlanc, Tom Brooke as Fiore, Derek Wilson as Donnie Schenck and Ian Colletti as Eugene/Arseface.  The 10-episode freshman season will be  executive produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin.

During the screening of the pilot episode at SXSW in Austin last month, Rogen said, “We read the comic book from when it first came out, and as soon as we had any power in Hollywood, we tried to make it…It’s always been in the hands of more successful and more talented people than us, and somehow they all f—ed it up and it rolled downhill into our laps somehow, which I’m very grateful for. I think it was just persistence; we always made it clear that we were interested in it, we were vocal about what big fans we were and we were really just in the right place at the right time.”

“Preacher”,based off the cult-classic comic, is a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows a West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power. Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy come together and when they do, they are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.  Tune in to Preacher,” for its AMC debut on Sunday, May 22nd at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT).
