Waiting for April Fools Day to pull a prank is an amateur move for a God of Mischief such as Loki. Tom Hiddleston, who plays the aforementioned MCU villain (and sometimes reluctant good guy), paid a surprise visit to Fox 32 in the Chicago area on Thursday, the day before shenanigans are to be expected, to deliver the weather report. Meteorologist Mike Caplan felt it was only natural that, as the brother of Thor, The God of Thunder, Loki should shed some light on the storms happening in the Midwest.Hiddleston kept his explanation short and sweet:
“My brother from another mother has been misbehaving. The god of thunder has brought his skill-set to bear on the local weather. There’s a huge storm front coming in, and all that means is Chris Hemsworth has taken his hammer and smashed it on the surface of the sky and it’s going to rain a hell of a lot. So good luck with that.”
There has been a bit of confusion surrounding the actor and his future in the Marvel Universe as of late. Hiddleston has termed his portrayal of Loki in Thor: Ragnarok as his “last time out of the gate,” but also admitted that he is unsure of weather Loki will have any part or presence in Avengers: Infinity War Part I and Avengers: Infinity War – Part II. Here’s what he said on the topic:
“I don’t know! Honestly, I don’t know. They haven’t got their ducks in a row yet. They make it up as they go along.”
That’s still a pretty serious statement given that so much is still up in the air about the films! What’s for certain, though, is that Loki will be included in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, directed by Taika Waititi. The script, by Stephany Folsom, is a re-write from an original Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle penned draft.
