Tonight (Apr. 10) the as promised release of an all new trailer for David Ayer‘s Suicide Squad made it’s debut during the MTV Movie Awards and it did not disappoint (the trailer that is, I will not pass judgement on an award show for movies on a channel that has ‘music’ in it’s name but only runs TV shows about people being ‘catfished’ on the internet.) Packed with new footage featuring more of Jared Leto’s Joker and Ben Affleck’s stunt doubles Batman and even, amazingly enough, those rumored jokes the reshoots were suppose to add*. Already? Damn, Ayer you are quick at the editing bay.
Check it out below:
To say Suicide Squad looks better with each and every trailer is an understatement. Yes, I am aware that mostly likely some d-bag is currently on the Facebook post linked to this article having some all caps epic fanboy rant about how this clearly is a desperate attempt to catch up to some other thing is pretty unrelated and that it is too grimdark when compared to something else entirely and that it needs more CGI raccoons or something because Internet… Well, luckily they didn’t even click on the link and we can point and laugh at them.
Seriously, you should try enjoying things rather than just sensely complaining, it makes things like life soooooooooo much easier.
Suicide Squad starring Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, and Scott Eastwood in an unknown (please be Nightwing) role, hits theaters August 5, 2016.
*That is sarcasm, btw. The rumors of many yuks reshoots for the movie for whatever reason are greatly over exaggerated. As Captain Boomerang (aka Jai Courtney) himself recently said, “you can’t believe everything you read.“
