Back in August 2015 at the D23 Expo, it was revealed that two Disney parks would be given a massive expansion that will take visitors to a galaxy far, far away. Yes, “Star Wars Land” as it was called at the time, was announced and people lost their minds. The idea behind it was to immerse Star Wars fans, young and old in the universe with Luke, Leia and Han. This is where it was given the name “The Star Wars Experience.” Original images revealed beautiful and detailed concept art of space stations and dingy cantinas, populated with the likes of Admiral Akbar and C-3PO & R2-D2. Now there have been new renderings of the park’s layout and it is worth getting excited over!
The theme park is currently under construction and although the rendering isn’t entirely clear about which rides and attractions are available there is definitely a very large Millennium Falcon situated in the middle of the experience. It is assumed that the new rendering will be slightly different to the original concept art but the essence of “The Star Wars Experience” is there. Immersing park goers in an environment that they can recognise from the films they’ve seen, throughout the Star Wars saga. The expansion is a promising add-on to an already successful layout. Only time will tell as construction continues on the proposed 14 acre expansion what we can expect but early signs suggest Disney are going all out on their latest addition that will be available in the California and Orlando parks.
