teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-out-of-the-shadows-trailer-released-early

There are a lot of complaints and disappointment that seem to grow from Hollywood reboots of classic film and TV franchises. When there was news there was going to be another go at our pizza chewing, Cowabunga spouting, friends from the sewers questions were raised. When it was revealed that Megan Fox was lined up to play April, a collective groan was expelled from the entire Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fan base. All this being said, and despite what the fan boys say, the first film was arguably a success. It was funny, action packed and had everything that we would expect from a contemporary take on the Ninja Turtles. The film enjoyed so much success that number two in the live action franchise, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, was given the green light and has now had its final full trailer released.

With four mutated turtles as the protagonists, the TMNT movies were never going to be your typical action films. Looking at the trailer, in classic Michael Bay style audiences are treat to ludicrous fight scenes in the air and on land but it is the characters that really stand out in the latest trailer. In the last film, even if you had been hidden under a rock for the last thirty years and had no clue who the Ninja Turtles were; Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello and Leonardo have very clear personalities, all different from each other. In this trailer there is even more to see of each turtle. Not enough for you? What about a Turtle Van with mechanic arms? You’re very difficult to please if that isn’t enough. Okay then… What about fan favourite villains Bebop and Rocksteady? That’s right, the pig-man and rhino-guy are back to fight against the turtles alongside classic antagonist Shredder, who returns to cause problems in New York City. On top of all of this throw Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures are throwing in Will Arnett, Megan Fox, tanks on water, the introduction of Casey Jones (played by Stephen Amell of Arrow fame) and hopefully some more beatboxing… What’s to say no to?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is due for release on 30th May in the UK and 3rd June in the US.
