The Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage play is just a week away from the first preview performances and the production is introducing the public to an aged Harry (Jamie Parker) and Ginny (Poppy Miller) Potter and their son Albus (Sam Clemmett). While the official opening performance is July 30th in the London Palace Theater, the production will hold several preview performances in the following weeks to work out any kinks. Even the preview performance tickets are selling well. Stub Hub currently has limited tickets available and those are going from anywhere from 100 Pounds up to 1000 ($150 to $1500 dollars) depending on the performance day with the weekends leaning towards the higher range. Here’s the synopsis:

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

There’s still no word on a traveling company for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, but one can hope, better still would be a one night only live television performance. Let’s get a look at the Potter family.

He looks a lot like his father from the movies:

What do you think? They look very Harry Potterish. If you can’t wait or afford a trip to London for a performance, the script book hits stores and digital on July 30th. Get a group of your Potterhead friends together and perform the play yourselves! That would make a great evening of entertainment.
