Prison Break top

Last Monday, actor Dominic Purcell (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), suffered an accident on the set of the ‘Prison Break’ revival. While filming for Fox’s revival on location in Morocco, an iron bar from from the set became dislodged from above him, fell down and struck him on the head. He received a broken nose and a head injury from the incident. Purcell had been giving fans and friends updates via his official Instagram account.

One of his most recent posts was directed to his best friend and co-star on Prison Break, The Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Wentworth Miller. The duo met and instantly bonded while playing brothers, Michael Scofield (Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Purcell) on Prison Break‘s initial run from 2005-2009.  That friendship continue to grow stronger as Purcell landed the role of Heatwave/Mick Rory and Miller taking on Captain Cold/Leonard Snart on The CW’s The Flash. The two would join AGAIN for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Accompanying the Instagram pic of Wentworth, the 46-year old expressed his gratitude, heartfelt thanks, and admiration for the friend who put Dominic before all else.

“Can’t describe my deep love and gratitude to my close friend and brother Wentworth Miller his concern for my health was his first priority. Went is holding up the fort in my absence his leadership and care is inspirational. He’s taken control taken it upon himself to push the production and lead by example. A true leader a true gentleman and the most fearless person I have ever met. Thanks bro. Love ya. See u in Van where we r going to crush and produce one of the most entertaining anticipated shows on the planet. Could not do this without you. Love ya. Dom. …. Ps. Purcell also took to social media to thank the plastic surgeon who helped him more than just physically during this traumatic experience.

Take a look at the official trailer for the 2017 season of FOX’s return of Prison Break.

In the thrilling new event series PRISON BREAK, original series stars Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies, Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar and Paul Adelstein are reunited for an all-new adventure spanning the globe and featuring the signature thrills and cliffhangers that were hallmarks of the original series when it aired on FOX from 2005-2009. The original action drama centered on MICHAEL SCOFIELD (Miller, “The Loft”), a young man determined to save his convicted brother, LINCOLN BURROWS (Purcell, “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”), from death row by hatching an elaborate plan to escape from prison. In the all-new event series, filmed on location in Morocco, clues surface that suggest a previously thought-to-be-dead Michael may be alive. Lincoln and SARA (Sarah Wayne Callies, “Colony,” “The Walking Dead”), Michael’s wife until he was assumed dead, reunite to engineer the series’ biggest escape ever, as three of Fox River State Penitentiary’s most notorious escapees, SUCRE (Nolasco, “Telenovela”), T-BAG (Knepper, “Heroes”) and C-NOTE (Dunbar, “The Mentalist”), are pulled back into the action. “Prison Break” was an immediate critical and ratings hit when it premiered on FOX in the fall of 2005, garnering Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Television Series – Drama and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama (Miller). The original producing team, including series creator Paul T. Scheuring, Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Olmstead, will return to executive-produce the new series, with Scheuring serving as showrunner/writer.
