Jim Mickle‘s Stake Land quickly became an underground hit and a new and interesting look at vampires and what might happen if a vampire outbreak destroyed society as we know it. Blending the vampire and apocalypse genres into one film that delighted horror fans. It looks like Glass Eye Pix has been secretly shooting a sequel, The Stakelander, along with Dark Sky Films and Syfy that just completed production. Seriously, no one knew this was coming and until the announcement of completion, a sequel to Stake Land was a hope forgotten.

Written by and starring Nick Damici as Mister, The Stakelander also brings back Martin (Conner Paolo) from Stake Land. The pair are joined by Laura Abramsen (Basic Human Needs), AC Peterson (Shooter), Bonnie Dennison (Beneath)Kristina Hughes (Green River), and Steven Williams (TV’s Supernatural). Dan Berk and Robert Olsen (Body) teamed up to direct. Here’s the synopsis:

When his home of New Eden is destroyed by a revitalized Brotherhood and its new Vamp leader, Martin finds himself alone in the badlands of America with only the distant memory of his mentor and legendary vampire hunter, Mister, to guide him. Roaming the wilderness of a steadily decaying country, Martin goes in search of the one man who can help him get revenge. Once reunited, Mister and Martin prepare to battle a now-ravenous Brotherhood and its monstrous overlord. But it’ll take more than the two of them to take down this terrifying new threat, and with more than just their lives now at risk, the stakes are higher than ever before.

Hopefully there will be a trailer out soon, there’s not even any production pictures to share at this point, and the movie is already made! Are you ready to go back to Stake Land and find out if you could survive in such a world?
