Many of us would likely agree that if you’ve seen one Transformers movie, you’ve seen them all, but this post is about Michael Bay showing us something new. The director has been slowly but surely revealing hints about who and what Transformers: The Last Knight will contain, but the real question is if the director will finally give fans of the franchise the movie they want, or will this be another Bayhem fuster-cluck? This post will not answer that question, but instead offer you a first look at a brand new Autobot created for the film (so you know it’s good!) and the return of an old face to the franchise.
That’s Bay and Last Knight co-star Isabela Moner with Squeeks, who kind of looks like the robot version of Toadstool from the Super Mario Bros. games. In reality though, he’s a transforming Vespa, and that’s all we know about the character so far because he’s been invented for the film. According to reports, Squeeks befriends Moner’s orphaned character. What does that remind us of? Could it be that Mr. Bay saw an other recent sci-fi movie where a mechanically-inclined orphan girl living in the desert meets a robot pal that changes her destiny? Hm.
Also released recently was this below Instagram video featuring the return of Lt. Col. Lennox, Josh Duhamel, to the franchise. (Tyrese Gibson is presumably happier now hanging out with the Fast and Furious gang.)
Well said. Duhmanel will return alongside Mark Wahlberg, reprising his Age of Extinction role as Cade Yeager, and be joined by Moner, Jerrod Carmichael, Laura Haddock, and, for some reason, Anthony Hopkins, in this fifth Transformers adventure. Featured robots will include Optimus Prime and Bumblebee for the Autobots and Megatron and Barricade for the Decepticons.
Transformers: The Last Knight will land at theaters everywhere with several loud bangs on June 23, 2017.
