Last week, we started get leaked set photos from the outdoor shoot of Spider-Man: Homecoming, the latest Marvel Studios film to go before the cameras, but now the latest, latest Marvel movie has now begun principle photography. We’ve followed Thor on his powerless journey to Earth, we’ve followed him into the Dark World, and now we will follow him into Ragnarok, AKA: the end of the world because the cameras are now rolling on the third Thor movie, Thor: Ragnarok. Director Taika Waititi made it official yesterday with an official set photo on the leading source for official announcements: Twitter.
From the looks of things, it was a full house on the Thor set yesterday in Australia with visual effects (VFX) supervisor Jake Morrison, executive producers Tom Hammel and Brad Winderbaum, writer Eric Pearson, production designer Dan Hennah and VFX producer Cyndi Ochs all on hand.

We still don’t know the exact details of the plot, but Thor: Ragnarok has been billed as a “cosmic road trip” movie with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) teaming up against the super-villainess Hel, ruler of the Underworld, played by Cate Blanchett. Tessa Thompson also joins the cast as the heroic Valkyrie, Karl Urban will play Skurge and Jeff Goldblum will fill the boots of the Grandmaster. Returning actors include Tom Hiddleston as the God of Mischief Loki, Idris Elba as the Asgard gatekeeper Heimdall, and Anthony Hopkins as Odin, king of Asgard.
Thor: Ragnarok will be in theaters everywhere on November 3, 2017.
