For years, Disney has had many a tie-in with LucasFilm. Then in 2012 when the Disney bought Star Wars from LucasFilm and announced new movies, it was always assumed Disney would also bring more of the Star Wars Universe to its theme  parks. And more they have brought.  They have such attractions as an updated Star Tours and The Jedi Training Academy stage show. There is also Star Wars Weekends which is an expansion of celebrating the beloved franchise just a little bit more during the summer. Hollywood Studios is transformed into a Star Wars themed park, almost during these weeks. But those are just little Star Wars appetizers for what is to come.  During a D23 Expo in 2015, it was confirmed that a very large expansion would be coming to California’s Disneyland park and Florida’s Hollywood Studios park, and since then there have been updates on what exactly will be included. And now we have another look at the land ahead.

The Disney Parks blog posted concept art of an artist’s rendering of the 14-acre Disneyland version of the update.

Nestled between towering spires of rock, this thriving port contains a seemingly familiar architecture of markets, landing zones and buildings. Click here for a larger version of the image above. Look closely and you may find hints of some of the thrilling experiences that are coming – like the Millennium Falcon peeking out of one of the cargo bays, marking the location where guests will get the opportunity to pilot the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.

It’s said that one of the biggest named attractions will be of the Millennium Falcon. Disney Imagineer, Scott Trowbridge confirmed that guests will be able to ride in the ship and can also explore the cockpit! In the concept art, it shows the Millennium Falcon in the distance at a docking bay surrounded by a forest. It also shows nearby, that there are rock spires, futuristic buildings and landing pads.

So many more concepts are in the works for these expansions, including dining options and themed areas. It is said that interactive droids and more characters will eventually be a very big add-on for the future. Who wouldn’t want to communicate with C-3PO while drinking some blue milk? It sounds like it will truly be an epic to remember. With all the planning and ideas circling, there’s no telling how truly awe-ispiring these expansions will be. Fans will be coming from all over the world to celebrate their love for Star Wars.
