Entertainment Weekly has some new production stills from Patty Jenkin‘s Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. Wonder Woman is a period piece, set in World War I with all the costuming that entails. These latest stills give a look into those costumes and Wonder Woman’s battle armor.
Gotta love those leather boxing straps, we should see Wonder Woman hitting a lot of people in this movie. A lot of German soldiers that is.
There’s director Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot in the middle of some battle field. World War I was a battle of the trenches. With both armies building elaborate trench systems across from each other, separated by a no man’s land that each side had set up to cover with machine gun placements. Charges made across that no man’s land were brutally dangerous. Whole battalions were wiped out on both sides. It will be interesting to see how that bit of history is played out with Wonder Woman on the allies side.
It will be interesting to see where this scene falls into the movie’s timeline. Is Wonder Woman still trying to return Trevor to his army or is she scouting out the Germans?
Wonder Woman hits theater screens June 2nd, 2017.
