Of the various Marvel things discussed this past weekend in Hall H at San Diego Comic Con, not much was said or revealed about Thor: Ragnarok. The simple reason is probably that the film just began production in Australia; we know all the cast members and it’s too early for finished film, so they just posted a fun little behind-the-scenes video in the vain of Taika Waititi’s vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows. Still, if you’re starving for Thor news, how about something from the style section. One cast member was required to get a new hairdo to get into character, and he shared the results with fans on your source for breaking news, Twitter.

Behold the new look for Skurge the Executioner… Er, Karl Urban!

Urban is no stranger to weird and different hair styles, though he is coming off the trim, clean-shaven look he wears as Bones McCoy in the just released Star Trek: Beyond. Remember Lord of the Rings when he had long blonde locks? Or The Chronicles of Riddick where he had the flattop? Or the hot pink mohawk he had in Dredd? (You couldn’t see it under the helmet.)

Urban is one of several new actors joining the third Thor epic including Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, and Jeff Goldblum. Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba and Tom Hiddleston are returning to the franchise along with Mark Ruffalo who will appear as Bruce Banner/The Hulk.

Meanwhile, the above referenced video that was shown at Comic Con hasn’t made its way online yet, but one of the people involved with it, Danny Pearson, shared a picture on Twitter (via ComicBook.com) today showing just how seriously the God of Thunder takes table-top gaming.

Thor: Ragnarok will be in theaters everywhere on November 3, 2017.
