While we may have to wait until the Thursday broadcast of the 2016 Rio Olympics on NBC to catch a first look at the new full trailer for director Gareth Edwards‘ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, there is a new teaser out to get those Star Wars juices flowing. So grab a box of Kleenex and take a look at this new teaser. Oh C’mon guys… the Kleenex is to wipe the drool from your mouth, get your minds out of the gutter.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story takes place between the prequels and the original trilogy as a rag tag group of rebels capture those Death Star plans that end up in the hands of Princess Leia Organa.
Oh yeah, kinda gives you a Magnificent Seven kinda feel doesn’t it? Not just for the number of folks either, but Star Wars has always had that western feeling in the background. Throw in that Magnificent Seven was based on Akira Kurosawa‘s Seven Samurai and the link to Star Wars and The Hidden Fortress ties it all up in a nice bow.
What a great time to live in, such a nerdy paradise at the movie theaters. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theater screens December 16th and then we’ll get Star Wars: Episode VIII the following year on December 15th, 2017.
When the full trailer hits the Internet, and it might before the scheduled NBC Olympics airing on Thursday, we’ll bring it to you here.
