There’s only two months until the premiere of DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow season 2, and the casting news is heating up. Today fans learned that Sarah Grey (iZombie, Bates Motel) will be taking on the role of Stargirl on the hit CW super hero show. She will join Matthew MacCaull (iZombie) who has already been cast to play Commander Steel. That just leaves Obsidian and Dr. Mid-Nite left to be cast. It’s been nearly six years since Stargirl was last seen on television in this capacity. She was seen a couple of times on the show Smallville during the ninth and tenth season of the show. Now she’ll be making her presence known again in the second season of Legends Of Tomorrow.
So who is Stargirl? Her real name is Courtney Whitmore and she, herself, doesn’t really have any powers. However, she does wear a belt and wield a staff that give her super strength, flight, and energy manipulation to name a few abilities. Check her out in action in this clip from Smallville.
As mentioned before, she’ll be joining Commander Steel, Obsidian, and Dr. Mid-Nite. Commander Steel is basically the DC version of Wolverine. He was hurt badly during a military incident and had his bones infused with a steel alloy. He may not have the anger issues that Wolverine has, but he’s got the durability and strength to keep up with him. Obsidian is well known for being the son of the Golden Age Green Lantern, Alan Scott. He has a variety of shadow-like powers and is a former villain. Finally, Dr. Mid-Nite is actually a medical doctor who lost his sight. Though, he can see spectrums of light in the dark. He doesn’t have any super powers but does use his vast medical knowledge to help out on cases.
Season two of DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow is set to premiere on October 13 on The CW.
