A lot of people were announced as coming back for Thor: Ragnarok including star Chris Hemsworth, who obviously has to appear because he’s playing the title character. Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, and Anthony Hopkins will all be making appearances along with Hemsworth’s Avengers co-star Mark Ruffalo. But someone was missing. Someone who was pretty important to the first two Thor films, and is often mentioned in the Avengers movies too because she just so happens to be the God of Thunder’s mortal love interest. So why hasn’t Natalie Portman been mentioned in relation to Thor: Ragnarok? Simple answer: she’s not in it.
“As far as I know, I’m done,” Portman told the Wall Street Journal. “I don’t know if maybe one day they’ll ask for an ‘Avengers 7’ or whatever I have no idea. But as far as I know, I’m done.”
Not all together surprising, and not just because Ragnarok‘s been shooting for a month already and this is the first time Portman’s name has been mentioned in relation to it. It’s also not surprising because Tessa Thompson‘s new character Valkyrie has often been referred to as Thor’s love interest in the film, and how can Thor have two love interests in the same movie? This isn’t Big Love!
In other Thor news, some sneaky sneaks (via ComicBook.com) have reputedly collected the first look at Cate Blanchett‘s villainous Hela on the set of the film. Blanchett is supposedly the one in green sitting in the chair in the center of the stairs, but the angle is rather far away to tell for certain. Below that is spy footage of what looks like a rehearsal for a fight scene.
